Gluten Free & Vegan in Toronto - Kupfert & Kim

We've just returned from a fantastic holiday in Canada, visiting family and enjoying the incredible Summery Weather (compared to the UK). I thought I would share with you some of the places where we ate when we visited Toronto. I've already written about a couple of them before but we revisited them this time and the food was still awesome! The lunch we ate on our first visit to Toronto was so delicious I couldn't wait to tell you about it so I've written a short post about the place today and I'll be writing another post about the food we ate on our second visit to Toronto soon.

We haven't visited Kupfert & Kim before but IMO it's the best take-away food you can ever eat! I can't describe in words how unbelievably stunning the food is here. It's just the sort of eatery I would LOVE to open in the North of England and since their premises seem to have sprung up all over Toronto since we were last there, I wonder if they would please consider crossing the pond? I'd be up for running it!

This is not your typical take-away! I don't know if you can read the menu but if you want to take a closer look, check it out here. All their meals are gluten free and vegan and all contain superfoods. All the take-out materials are compostable and if you take your own container you can even get 35% off the price of the meal or drink which when converted to GBP isn't expensive by our standards anyway! After a lot of deliberation, we chose the K&K Paleo and the First Canadian boxes. This food was beyond delicious!

The K & K Paleo (my choice) contains roasted root vegetables, sunflower balls, organic arugula, organic kale, organic cucumber, purple cabbage, house-made sauerkraut, carrots, fennel, onion, dill, organic parsley, cilantro with tahini sauce and horseradish chimmichuri. Everything tasted fresh and heavenly!

My husband chose the First Canadian Box which contained organic quinoa, organic tempeh, organic kale, roasted yam, pomegranate seeds, rainbow radish, purple cabbage, white cabbage, carrots, beets, organic pea shoots, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds with chia tamari maple sauce - equally as yummy!

For dessert we bought 3 of these Bunners Supersonic Cookies to keep us going through the day. The desserts all looked wonderfully tasty and we called in later to take some home with us.

We chose a granola energy ball (not pictured) and a couple of the maple iced chocolate brownies (far left) but everything looked lovely!

If you're ever in Toronto, you should try to visit one of their shops because I know you wouldn't be disappointed!
