A Few Things I Like - 3

Dr Organic Moroccan Argan Oil Hand & Nail Balm

It's been a while since I posted and I'm looking forward to sharing some new recipes with you soon but today, I thought I'd share with you some more of my favourite things.

Do you suffer from dry hands? I've no idea why I do. Perhaps it's a thyroid issue or maybe I just wash my hands too often. I drink plenty of fluids and nothing I've tried has ever helped but recently I met up with a friend who I haven't seen for months and she gave me a belated Christmas present which included the Dr Organic Moroccan Argan Oil Hand & Nail Balm in the picture above. I'm completely shocked by how much it's improved the skin on my hands and it's been fantastic for my elbows too. The cream is very easily absorbed and leaves your hands feeling very soft and not greasy or sticky like other creams and since it's both organic, vegetarian and vegan, it fits into my lifestyle perfectly. The whole Dr Organic range is available at Holland & Barrett.

Lucy Bee Sri Lankan Coconut Oil

I do my shopping at Ocado most of the time now since it's convenient to have everything delivered, the quality is always superb and they seem to stock most of the products we like. However, I still compare the prices for expensive household products such as dishwasher tablets etc at My Supermarket dot com. I've been using Lucy Bee's coconut oil for ages now, more for cosmetic reasons than for cooking with because I still greatly prefer extra virgin olive oil to coconut oil. However, I spotted this new Sri Lankan coconut oil from Lucy Bee when I was shopping on Ocado the other week and I thought I'd try it out. I'm so pleased I did because it's really very lovely. It has a much milder taste than the Lucy Bee coconut oil from the Philippines.

Tenuta Marmorelle Lasagne Sheets

A couple of weeks ago we visited Cannon Hall to wander a little in the superb grounds with the aim of giving my leg a bit of exercise. We ended up at the farm shop and I spotted these Tenuta Marmorelle gluten free lasagne sheets in the gluten free section. We haven't had lasagne in a long time so I bought a pack to try. That evening I made a delicious vegan lasagne and these sheets fitted my dish perfectly. However, I think that the next time I make one, I'll cook the sheets a little first because it did take much longer to bake than normal.

Clearspring Organic Coconut Oil

Have you noticed that there's not many brands of coconut milk without any additives? There is, fortunately, one brand that I can rely on. I've been buying Clearspring's coconut milk for some time now to use primarily in curries but sadly, it doesn't seem to be on the shelves of local supermarkets or at Ocado. So I currently buy it from Goodness Direct in bulk alongside all the other items we use which the supermarkets don't stock.

Dee's Vegan Sausages with Ginger, Coriander, Pepper & Irish Dulse Seaweed

I've mentioned Dee's Vegan Sausages with Ginger, Coriander, Pepper & Irish Dulse Seaweed before, we adore them. As you know, we don't tend to buy anything pre-made or processed but I make an exception for these lovely beauties.

What's not to like about these ingredients? They taste wonderful especially in a sausage sandwich thickly spread with my favourite mustard - Pommery Moutarde de Meaux.

Pommery Moutarde de Meaux

We've been eating this delicious sugar free mustard for as long as I can remember but for several years we couldn't find it anywhere. Then we noticed it for sale at Cannon Hall Farm Shop. But even they've recently stopped stocking it. This little jar turned up in my Christmas stocking, I was over the moon. Most mustards contain sugar but this happily does not. The original version we bought years ago came with a natural cork stopper and red wax seal. This is still available to purchase but is a little more expensive than the stoneware pot with a plastic lid.

Have you found anything new and delicious recently?
