Have you tried the vegetable and fruit snacks from "Nothing But"? If you read my reviews of The Vegan Kind Monthly Subscription Box, you may remember that I've already had the opportunity to sample two of their yummy products before, the Mange Tout & Red Pepper Snack and Pineapple & Grape Snack.
Currently there are six varieties to choose from :
- Sliced Beetroot & Parsnip
- Pea & Sweetcorn
- Mange Tout & Red Pepper
- Strawberry & Banana
- Pineapple & Grape
- Apple & Fig
These healthy snack packs contain nothing but fruit or vegetables which means there is no added fat, no added salt, no added sugar, no added colour and no added preservatives. They're vegan and gluten free and best of all, four of the packs are suitable for The Specific Carbohydrate Diet! All the taste and essential nutrients are retained in the freeze drying process because all that's removed is the water. One pack is equivalent to your 5-a-day (or should that be 10-a-day now?).
You may be just a tad disappointed that there doesn't seem to be very much in the packet however, believe it or not, I found it quite difficult to eat a full pack in one go. If you don't eat them all (which you probably will), you can just clip the pack and they keep really well.

The Sliced Beetroot and Parsnip snack is my favourite of all the snacks I've tried so far. Have you ever tried Quavers? The texture is very similar and you can really taste the flavours of the vegetables, I particularly liked the beetroot, yum!
The mange tout, in my opinion, has a slightly unusual taste and takes a little getting used to but the red pepper is delicious.
I've saved the Strawberry and Banana snack to share with someone else at Christmas. The fruity pieces would be delicious added to granola or porridge oats and because the colour is retained in the freezing process, you could blitz them in a processor and sprinkle over ice cream or even on top of cupcakes - natural sprinkles!
