Toffee Ice Cream GF SCD
I think one of the most difficult things about making ice-cream is remembering to put the bowl in the freezer the night before. Frozen yogurt can be just as delicious as regular ice cream and makes a lovely treat for followers of the Specific Carbohydrate Diet.

Pineapple Muffins GF SCD
Pineapple is one of my favourite fruits especially freshly chopped with bananas. It's packed full of Vitamin C as well as being a fantastic source of manganese which helps to support good bone health. It also contains the enzyme, bromelain which has anti-inflammatory properties and also aids digestion.
Spicy Bean Burgers GF SCD
Tonight we ventured out to a wonderful old picture house in Leeds to watch the film Planeat which was showing as part of The UK Green Film Festival. The documentary presents a convincing case for the re-examination of the heavily laden meat and dairy diet of the West in the light of the work of the scientists and doctors featured in the film. It's message is three-fold, firstly people need to adopt a more plant based diet; secondly, businesses should start to put plant based meals on the menu and thirdly, governments should start supporting small scale organic farming as opposed to factory farming. The film certainly struck a chord with me.

Raspberry Ripple Ice Cream or Frozen Yogurt GF SCD
There's nothing more delicious than frozen yogurt! It's like a cross between sorbet and ice cream. It's definitely worth investing in an ice cream maker,especially if you are following the SCD or a gluten free diet. When I first made frozen yogurt we were stood over the bowl scooping small spoonfuls from the machine as it was churning, we couldn't wait for it to finish, it was a delicious ice cream recipe from Grain-Free Gourmet.

Carrot Salad GF SCD
Carrots are nutritional heroes,a great source of Vitamin A as well as Vitamins B1, B2, B6, C and K in addition to potassium, phosphorous and magnesium. They also taste good! But don't eat too many or you will literally turn orange!

SCD Legal Food
I think that when you are vegetarian it is second nature to check the ingredients on packaged and canned food. So when I had to start buying food for the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, I didn't find it difficult to adapt to! To make things easier for those of you following a vegetarian form of the diet, I have included a list of legal SCD foods which can be found on the tab bar at the top of the site. If I've left anything out, please leave me a comment! I thought it might also be useful to expand on the list a little so I've composed a short guide to help you to eat safely on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet.
